And now, Pippa Middleton.

Britain's most famous little sister -- and much-admired society gal-about-town - has joined Vanity Fair as the magazine's newest contributing editor, thereby finding herself in the same ranks as the august company above.

Alas, the newsstand at One Yonge doesn't yet have a copy of the July edition (on the cover: Channing Tatum) in which Miss M holds forth on Wimbledon -- apparently, one of her favourite summer events -- so I shall have to take VF.com's word for what she waxes on about.

In her first article for the magazine, it says, she recalls queuing -- translation: lining up -- in hopes of snaring a centre court ticket with her older sister, Kate. This was at 5 a.m. In 2004. Kate is, of course, now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, but she remains a very keen tennis fan.

(By the way, I admire this dedication. I, too, love Wimbledon but loathe Britain's national pastime of queuing for hours in the rain. It's fair to say that now that the Middleton family has entree to the Royal Box, there's no longer any need to stand in the drizzle in SW19.)

Pippa Middleton walked into the spotlight, wearing a truly fantastic dress, carrying her sister's train down the aisle of Westminster Abbey. Since then, she has authored a book on how to throw a party -- which even the Daily Telegraph hated -- and now pens a column for the in-house magazine of Britain's best grocery store.

Graydon Carter, the Canadian-born editor of Vanity Fair, calls Middleton "a keen observer of classic British pastimes" and says they "look forward to her take on traditional English pursuits."

Me too. Especially if she can tell us how to get centre court tickets without queuing -- or marrying into the Royal Family.
