‘Sri Lanka’s Unity is not negotiable

The deputy leader of the opposition of the Indian Rajya Sabha Ravi Shankar Prasad has said Sri Lanka’s Unity is not negotiable, announced President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s office.

Shankar, who is also a member of India’s Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) has made this statement, when a delegation led by him met President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo today.
The delegation’s meeting with Rajapaksa took place following a tour the Indian political leaders made to Jaffna, the Island’s Northern capital.
Shankar has told President Rajapaksa that the tour to Jaffna ‘was an eye-opener’ noting the development that has taken place.
The delegation has also discussed matters pertaining to the Lessons Learned and Reconciliation Commission report, the Northern elections and also relationship between India and Sri Lanka.
